Project Overview
Led a strategic redesign of AppSumo’s email marketing approach by introducing dedicated promotional emails for top-performing tech deals. This shift transformed a single weekly catch-all email into focused, conversion-driven campaigns.
The Challenge
AppSumo’s weekly emails were overcrowded with multiple deals, lacked a clear promotion, and were underperforming in both engagement and conversions. The existing design felt dull and failed to highlight high-value offers effectively.
My Process
I analyzed email performance data to identify the top 2 performing deals each week and proposed a new structure centered around dedicated promotional emails. I then designed and tested a new email format optimized with:
Clearer visual hierarchy
Stronger CTA placement
Mobile-first layout improvements
This approach allowed each deal to feel intentional and premium rather than lost in a crowded list.
Outcome
The first dedicated email campaign for Mootion resulted in an increase in click-through rate (3.0% - 3.6%) and an immediate lift in purchases. Dedicated deal emails are now a repeatable strategy contributing to improved engagement and sustained revenue growth.
